The St. Charles Arts Community was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of a staunch arts supporter, Lillian (Kessler) Yahn, onMay 19, 2008.Mrs. Yahn was a journalist for the St. Charles Daily Banner News and the St. Charles Journal before her retirement. As an artist, she participated in the St. Charles Artistsí Guild and the Oak Leaf Artistsí Guild. She was also active in her church, in Francis Howell schools, and in politics. The St. Charles Arts Council was very blessed that Lillian Yahnís family asked that memorials be made in honor of their mother to the Arts Council. As we go to press, the donations total $4,200. To respect her love of the arts and in helping people, we have marked the donations to be used for projects that provide learning experiences in the arts for children and for seniors. We are very thankful to the children of Lillian Yahn (Glendon G. Yahn, Gloria Griffith, and Bettie Yahn-Kramer) in designating us as the recipients of the memorials to honor a very lovely, talented, and gracious woman.
"When one is receptive to the order of the Universe, all art forms revealed in nature touch our lives. Enrichment experienced, enables us to become qualified participants! I should like my work well received by the viewer." --Lillian Yahn
