After receiving a BFA from Central Missouri State, I began as a graphic artist and have been painting murals (freelance) for sixteen years and love it! I grew up in Sedalia, Missouri and have been drawing for as long as I can remember. My first murals were done on my high school’s hallway walls. Most of my work is residential, but recently I completed four sets of elevator doors at the IRS Headquarters Building in Kansas City.
Artists who have greatly influenced me are O’Keefe, Kandinsky, Matisse, and Picasso. Artist of today who I admire are Brian MacGregor, Billy Hensler, and Thomas Creed. I truly value my membership in Art St. Louis. I am a Christian, and I love to bless others with the enjoyment artwork can bring. Landscapes are my favorite thing to paint. I typically like to add a twist… my personal way of honoring The One who gave me this talent: I include a grouping of three trees in every painting. Sometimes it’s obvious; sometimes you have to really look for them, but I try to include them in everything I do.
I have been married to my husband Michael for 12 years and have three children – Slade, Seth, and Eden. I have resided in St. Charles County for the last fourteen years. Please visit my web site www.designstudiomurals.com where many of my murals can be viewed.
