Save Saturday, October 17 for a day and evening of fun in Klondike Park. The St. Charles County Parks, the Arts Council of St. Charles County, and the Alliance for Astronomy invite you to spend the afternoon and evening visiting with artists and purchasing their art, participating in the Arts Council’s ―Sunny Days and Starry Nights arts happening for kids, enjoying performing artists while picnicking, learning about astronomy, and savoring the beauty of the night sky through telescopes. While you are in the park, hike the trails, fish, and go birdwatching. Consider visiting the wineries and appreciating the fall foliage along Highway 94.
We will utilize the picnic shelters for art activities and, in the event of rain, we will use the Curt Loupe Conference Center. The park is approximately 14 miles south of the Highway 40/94 interchange. Take Highway 94 south and pass the Busch Wildlife Area and the town of Defiance. Turn left into Klondike Park before reaching Augusta.
We invite artists to contact the Arts Council for information on exhibiting and selling art work or participating in the Plein Aire event. For additional information on the day’s events visit www.stccparks.org and www.ASEMonline.org
Stay for a day of viewing artists at work, buying art, and participating in the arts. Bring a picnic supper and beverages and enjoy the beautiful setting and performing artists. Then stay for the star party with the Alliance of Astronomy in a location just made to watch the heavens. Your time at Klondike Park will be unforgettable.
