Oktoberfest and the Arts
The Arts Council is fortunate to be able to participate in the Lions Club’s Oktoberfest at Frontier Park on the St. Charles Riverfront on September 26, 27, and 28. Plans call for a sculpture contest utilizing pumpkins and gourds. Details are being finalized but include different age and ability categories with prizes being awarded. On Friday, September 26, the artists will assemble their creations, and the judging will be the next day. Pumpkin painting will also be displayed. Throughout the event, festivalgoers can stroll by these fantastic and beautiful projects. In addition, the St. Charles Area Woodcarvers have graciously agreed to perform miracles with pumpkins. This will truly reflect German festivals that incorporate art in their Oktoberfest and will be a treat for the entire family. Plan to attend and be amazed!
